Very happy to be there this year as, tragically, I almost missed out on a table. I’d been so excited to get a table for Thought Bubble in the two hours that they were available that it completely slipped my mind and they had all sold old when I got round to it. Thankfully, brilliant Comic Village organiser Gary let me know when there was a cancellation and now, I will be there. HOORAY GARY!!

Also, you may or may not know that tomorrow is not only Star Wars Day but also FREE COMIC BOOK DAY! Free Comic Book Day is the day of the year where comic book shops, publishers and creators all club together to try and encourage new people to read comics through a series of events and, as you might have guessed, FREE COMIC BOOKS! Whilst I personally will be chained to my desk drawing all day, you may want to head down to Gosh Comics in London to hang out and chat and draw with a bunch of great people. You may also want to go to Gosh to pick up FREE SCENE CITY BOOKS! Because I am a generous soul, I donated the remained of my first print runs of Scene City 1 and 2 to be distributed COMPLETELY FREE among those who want them.

Went along to a drawing thing the other weekend where they had a classical string band playing while we drew. Most people seemed to be working on proper things. I drew a robot with tits and an advert for cake.

Regardless, there was a crazy similar me look-a-like running the show. As if that wasn’t weird enough, two of his friends that came down were people I knew from another group of friends. WOOOOAAAAAAAH SMALL WORLD BRO!!

And then we went to the pub

Let this be a lesson to you all. If you have a friend visiting, make sure all your housemates get a good look at their face. Preferably, they should take photos and DNA swabs also. Maybe have the police on speed dial just in case.

It took about 4 years but I finally got my dear friend Emma to come and visit me in London over Easter weekend. It was well worth the wait as we had a wonderful time being stupid tourists and taking photos of everything. Also, Light Show at the Hayward Gallery is well worth your money. You should go do that. When we got there, a married couple with a kid had a blazing row in the foyer and the husband stormed off. That was worth the money in itself.

Oh, also, if you’re going to be hanging around outside Buckingham Palace, you probably should bring a good camera with you because people will keep asking you to stop and take their picture for them. Don’t do that. Everyone will ask you. EVERYONE!

Sadly, there is no comic again this week. I’ve been mega busy at work the past couple of weeks and honestly haven’t felt like drawing when I’ve gotten home. Hopefully things will be back to normal next week. Got a few other projects on the go at the moment as well so things might be a little sporadic over the next few months. Rubbish, I know, but hey, what can you do? If you’re really desperate for comics, you can always go and buy them from the store…

While we’re on the subject of buying comics, it’s Comiket on Saturday at Central Saint Martins in Kings Cross.It’s free entry and I’ll be there with half a table and all the usual comics for sale. I will be on table 49 in the foyer with Mike Georgiou. You can find a full floorplan of this COMPLETELY FREE event here. Should be a fun event so come on down, for free, and buy some independent comics and watch the drawing parade, for free, before hitting up a pub somewhere nearby. Hooray over-crowded birthday nights out!

Seriously though, had a great time for my housemate’s birthday but Slim Jim’s needs to let less people in. And probably take all the whiny depressing music off the jukebox because that was a real downer! Maybe I didn’t get to enjoy my three over-priced tunes but at least I have the satisfaction of knowing I rescued the night for however many millions of people were in there.

Seconds after this I spend ten minutes trying to find my coat because a complete stranger helpfully moved it for me…

Back in February, I attended London Super Comics Convention and Matt made the mistake had the brilliant idea of bringing walkies talkies so me and him could communicate. As it happens, we were only separated by Mike but we decided to carry on regardless.

I tried to serenade Matt on the Sunday morning with Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing” from hit blockbuster Armageddon but his walkie talkie wasn’t on so I didn’t. Cool story bro
